Whilst our default Article layout is admittedly pretty sweet, there may be times you may prefer to create your own custom layout for your news articles or blog posts. You can now create your very own article templates and assign them to individual one or more articles as you please. If you've ever created a custom Category Template, you'll already know how this works. |
If not, read on.
Step-by-step guide
...
1. Check Articles settings allow 'zoned article template' and 'article template override'.
In the CMS, navigate to Settings → Feature Management → Articles.
Click 'Configure' and check whether your site is already using zoned article templates. If not, you will need to toggle the feature 'Use Zoned Article Template' on.
Then, toggle 'Enable Article Template Override' on and save your setting changes.

2. Create and assign a template to an article.
Now under the Content menu, navigate to Content → Articles. Choose the article with the template you want to change and click Edit.
In the top right, hover on Options and select either Design Template (to edit the template being used by this article), or Manage Template (to assign or create a new template).
