How it works
1. The deposit flag is triggered when the customer selects 'Pickup' in the Cart or during Checkout, depending on your site's set up.
2. The customer will be informed that they are required to pay a deposit of the order total. Upon order submission, only the deposit amount is charged.

Customer Experience

If you offer Click and Collect pickup for your customers, you can choose to charge only a deposit on the order total. Your business may prefer this set up, for example, as a fraud prevention measure whereby the customer pays the balance instore, and staff can perform the usual security checks for POS transactions. This feature is for credit card and PayPal payments only.

How it works

3. If the deposit payment is successful, the order is processed and the customer will receive an order confirmation email, which includes the deposit paid, the balance owing and pickup location.
5. Customers can access partially paid orders via Dashboard → Orders Awaiting Payment page.

Configure Partial Payments/Deposit
1. Add/Edit the Checkout Deposit Payment Widget
This widget renders the Initial Payment Deposit panel on the checkout page. It also contains settings for the deposit function. If this widget is not in the Checkout template, add it.
- In the CMS, go to Content → Content → Pages & Templates → Checkout.
- Click Edit for the Checkout template.
- Add the Checkout Deposit Payment widget. TIP - A good spot to add it just above the Checkout Payments Options widget.
- To prevent customers from entering amounts higher than order totals, toggle ON Max Value cannot exceeed Order Total Amount?
- Toggle ONAllow Partial Payment Of Balance Owing? to allow multiple future partial payments to be made through the Orders Awaiting Payment page.
- Toggle ON Use Minimum Percentage For Payment Of Balance Owing? to force further payments to be the default minimum % set when payment is made through the Orders Awaiting Payment page.
- Click Save.
2. Edit Orders Awaiting Payment page (optional)
G to the Orders Awaiting Payment template and edit the widgets.
